Project Type:
Thank-you Card
Designer Notes:
Through my discussions with the client, it was clear that they wanted to have a thank-you card designed that could be given to their guests to express their gratitude for attending their wedding. The design was to be simple and needed to integrate one of two photographs.
In my approach to this project, I felt that it needed to use a font that appeared hand written to maintain the elegance and beauty of that couple's special day. I also did not want the text to grab the viewers eye immediatedly and therefore opted to lower the opacity of the text so that it would blend in with the picture yet still draw the viewers attention appropriately. When working with the photograph, I adjusted the levels to make the blacks as true as possible, and the white's stunning. To create a sense of depth, a light gradient (from black to transparent) was applied over the image to give it a dark to light effect that can be observed from the bottom of the image to its top.
In the end, the final product achieved was what I had set out to do. Captuer the beauty of the moment with elegance and express the bride and groom's thanks to their family and friends.
